R is for Robot!

by Betty Amen

April 01, 2001

Each week at Lil’ Dusters Preschool we learn about a different letter.  We had a great time making Robots out of rubbish when we learned about the letter “R!”  Our robots are on display in the main hallway if you would like to take a look at them.  If you cannot come to school to see them, please look at the pictures we took.  Besides reading books about robots we read books about rain and rainbows.

We had fun reading Dr. Seuss books during Read Across America week. We wore hats when we read the book The Cat in the Hat, glasses on the day Dr. Ericksen read I Can Read With My Eyes Shut, and wacky clothes when Mr. Ken read Wacky Wednesday to us.

This week the letter of the week is “V."  We will talk about vacations, vehicles, and vegetables. We will also read books that start with the letter “V.” Some of our activities will include:
• Planting beans
• Water and sand play – we will pretend we are at the beach!
• Playing with vehicles – cars, trucks, trains – all kinds of vehicles!
• Making vegetable pizza!
