New Student Acceptable Use Policy

October 11, 2007

Families in the school district have recently received a copy of the district's new Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). It was included in the last issue of the HHS or HMS newsletter. In the elementary schools, only the students in fourth grade received a copy of the policy that was included with their report cards.

The last page of the policy needs to be signed by the student and parent or guardian and returned to the Media Center or school office by December 23, 2005. Failure to do so will deny the student access to technology resources beginning with the second semester. Students are currently covered under the old policy until the beginning of the New Year.

An AUP is a requirement of the Universal Service Agreement which provides Internet access to schools. The new policy was adopted by the Holdrege School Board on July 7, 2005 and covers the use of all technology resources.
