2006 HOLDREGE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE
"I have a passion for creating all forms of art. Photography is my favorite because I love the challenge of capturing moments in time; moments of beauty, curiosity, anticipation and wonder."
Amber Kosmicki is a sophomore at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She plans to graduate with a BA in Art Education, a minor in Visual Communications and an emphasis in Photography. Amber serves on the Nebraska Art Teachers Association Board as University Student Representative, as a UNK Peer Mentor for incoming freshman and she was recently elected as the historian for UNK Art Society. She is a member of the Student Education Association of Nebraska (SEAN), NATA (student chapter), UNK Choarleers, and Collegium.
Amber works part time as a
digital artist at Artisans Photography in Kearney and supplements
her income by taking senior pictures and family portraits.
Her exhibition record includes her High School Senior Show in 2006,
UNK Art Society Juried Honors Exhibition in 2007 & 2008, and a
two-man exhibition at the Minden Opera House slated for October of
2009. This exhibition will feature her photography and work
by a mosaic artist from Grand
Island. Amber's favorite painting medium is oil, but her
passion is digital photography. The world is her canvas and
her favorite subject matter includes nature, old buildings, sports,
and people.
