2000 Holdrege High School Graduate
After graduating from HHS with the class of 2000, Janelle went on to pursue a BFA, with an emphasis in graphic design. She began her college education at Northwestern College in St. Paul, MN. After one year, she transferred to the University of Nebraska - Lincoln where she spent two years in the BFA program, focusing mainly on photography and design. She completed her degree at the University of Nebraska – Kearney, graduating in the spring of 2006 with a BFA in Visual Communication and Design.
During her last year of school, Janelle began an internship as a graphic designer with SCORR Marketing in Kearney, NE. Upon graduating, she joined the team full time in May of 2006. While at SCORR, she has had the opportunity to design for many local and national clients. With her team, she launched the Good Samaritan Hospital “Within Reach” campaign in 2007 and remains lead designer and art director for the campaign. For her illustration and design of the She’s Smitten website she received a 2007 silver Davey Award and a 2007 silver Nebraska ADDY Award.
Although graphic design has become her career, photography has remained a passion and outlet for Janelle. “Through a camera lens, I am able to view the world differently. Photography reminds me to look for the unique in the mundane of everyday life.”
