Middle School Track Off to a Great Start!

After having the first meet cancelled due to bad weather, the eighty 7th and 8th graders on the track team were anxious for the opportunity to compete. They finally got their chance at their own Holdrege Invitational on Friday, April 18. All of the athletes performed well. Whitney Wagner broke the middle school shot put record with a throw of 31'2". Congratulations to Whitney for her outstanding performance.
The tracksters' second meet was the Aurora Invitational, the following day. All of the athletes did a great job and accomplished several personal records in their individual events. The eighth grade girls captured first place at this meet.
At the Hastings 8th grade invitational, Miranda Karn again broke her own school record running the 1600M race in the time of 5:51. Way to go Miranda! We are proud of the effort of all our athletes. They will finish the season with the Gothenburg Relay Meet, the Cozad Invitational and a meet in Grand Island with several Grand Island Middle Schools.
