First HPS Foundation Fundraiser is a Success
April 27, 2008
The first ever fundraiser for the Holdrege Public Schools Foundation held on Saturday, April 26th at The Tassel Performing Arts Center raised over $7,000 to help the Foundation achieve its goal to "Give Back To Education". Approximately one hundred people were treated to an evening of entertainment by the Holdrege Jazz Band and Gold Dust, a silent auction and live auction of artwork by Holdrege High School graduates and refreshments. Talented alumni donated many types of art work for the auction including blown glass, handpainted glass, glass pendants, bronze sculptures, quilts, jewelry, drawings, paintings, prints, books, concert CDs, photography, and wood and metal designs.
The proceeds from the auctions will benefit Holdrege students and teachers through the Holdrege Public Schools Foundation by providing funding for innovative and challenging programs, learning experiences and activities for students.
The Holdrege Public Schools Foundation appreciates the generosity of Holdrege patrons who supported the fundraising event and gratefully acknowledges the graduates who donated art for the auction, Michelle Hartwell for her poster design, Mr. Dan Wiese and the Holdrege Jazz Band, Mr. Mark Butler and Gold Dust, and Mr. Ron Pfeiffer for sharing their time and talents.
