HMS Finishes Top Ten Percent in National Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl Contest

The 7th and 8th grade Holdrege Middle School Academic Quiz Bowl Team in the Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl finished 30th out of more than 350 teams nation wide. They scored 1145 points out of 1500 at 95 % level. The HMS team was second out of the Nebraska teams competing. The contest is completed on a computer and is conducted on the same day throughout the state, and also the country.
The Holdrege Middle School 7th and 8th grade team members are: Daniel Olsen, Seth Hald, Jordan Hoeft, Austin Envick, Nick Anderson, Austin Pistulka, Zach Gray, Andrew Daily, Bailey Williams, Austin Swanson, Dillon Clayton, Courtney Milius, Quinton Stump, Hunter Ellis, Matt Jensen, Alasyn Barwick, Joe Burr. The Holdrege Middle School teams have competed in the Academic Quiz Bowl sponsored by ESU 11, in January and February Minden’s contest. The seventh and eighth graders have won trophies in all competitions, and have had a very successful year. The Holdrege Middle School Quiz Bowl Teams are coached by Ron Evans Sixth Grade Science Teacher.
