Area fourth, fifth and sixth graders also performing!
May 09, 2008
You are invited to be at The Tassel Center for the Performing Arts on Tuesday, May 13th for a fun, family-friendly evening of music. The Omaha Symphony will be performing classical favorites including Peter and the Wolf as well as showcasing area fourth, fifth and sixth grade students with their recorders. Students involved will be from the Holdrege Public Schools, All Saints Catholic school, Loomis, Bertrand and Wilcox-Hildreth. The students have been practicing several pieces of music they will play with the symphony.
Holdrege is the only site chosen outside of Omaha where the symphony is coming to work with students on the LinkUP program from Carnegie Hall. The students will be interacting with the symphony members in a rehearsal Tuesday afternoon as well as performing with them in the evening. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets are available at The Tassel, Tier One Bank, First National Bank as well as at the door. They may also be ordered online at info@thetassel.org. The Omaha Symphony's appearance is sponsored by The Tassel, the Nebraska Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment.
