HMS Fifth and Sixth Graders Finish Top 5 Percent in National Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl

The 5th and 6th grade Holdrege Middle School Academic Quiz Bowl Team finished 24th out of more than 470 teams nation wide in the National Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl. They scored 1192 points out of 1500 to score at the 95% level. The HMS team was first out of the Nebraska teams competing. The contest is completed on a computer and is conducted on the same day throughout the state, and also the country.
The Holdrege Middle School 5th and 6th grade team members are: Emily Blanchard, Andrew Maaske, Tyler Dahl, Stacey Kaslon, Jake Wiese, Jamie Isaacson, Tessa Perez, Taylor Ohrt, Isaac Hohman, Megan Hunke, Haley Schroeder, Joel Latter, Lucas Pistulka, Dillon Hixson, Jody Skallberg and Logan Piening.
The Holdrege Middle School teams have competed in the Academic Quiz Bowl sponsored by ESU 11, in January and other contests. The Holdrege Middle School Quiz Bowl Teams are coached by Ron Evans Sixth Grade Science Teacher.
