Duster Band Marches Into The 2008 Season

by Dan Wiese

July 29, 2008

The summer has been over for two weeks already for Holdrege Duster Band members.  Their hard work began with beginning band, middle school drumline, high school drumline, UNK Marching, and colorguard camps in July.

The Duster Marching Band competition field show this year is based on the music of “La Nouba” from the modern Canadian circus Cirque du Soliel.  Director Dan Wiese says, “We are looking forward to a great year.  Student leadership has been outstanding and I can’t wait to see the benefits of re-establishing our middle school marching program.”

The high school band camp begins with Freshmen Days, July 31 – August 1, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.  The full band joins them Monday – Friday, August 4 – 8, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.  The public is invited to an exhibition on Friday, August 8, at 6 p.m. at the high school stadium.
