Principal's Club Off To A Good Start!

Positive behavior is focus of program

by Julie Freburg

February 10, 2009

Students and staff at Franklin, R-7 and Washington Elementary Schools recently began using a new positive behavior program entitled "Principal's Club."  The aim of the program is recognize the students who are following the four guiding rules of the Principal's Club.  The rules are: 1) Follow Instructions; 2) Accept consequences; 3) Be respectful; and 4) Keep your hands and feet to yourself.

Teachers and staff members are given blank tickets at the beginning of each day that they can give out to students who are following the club rules.  Students then turn in their tickets to the office and sign the "Celebrity Book."  On the first and third Fridays a drawing is held for the "mystery motivator" prize and the winners are then members of the Principal's Club.  Club members have their pictures taken and put on display.  Parents are notified to tell them of this special honor!  It's great to recognize students for positive behavior!
