Duster Bands Soar In Spring Contests

The Holdrege High School Duster Band did well at District Music Contest on April 23 and 24.  The jazz band received straight "superior" ratings and the concert band received an "excellent" rating.  The results of the solo and ensemble competition were as follows:

  • Michael DeJonge, excellent, trumpet solo
  • Haley Adkins, superior, clarinet solo
  • Adam Zeibert, superior, tuba solo
  • Michaela Gray, superior, flute solo
  • Eric Jones, superior, snare drum solo
  • Kendra Ritter and Joe Burr, superior, trumpet duet
  • Michael DeJonge and Tyler Ehlers, superior, trumpet duet
  • Haley Adkins and Paige Geiger, superior, clarinet duet

 

In addition, Congratulations to all middle school band students who participated in the Minuteman Music Festival on Saturday, May 2. The 7/8 band earned a “superior” division one rating and high accolades from the judges. The following are the results of the solo/ensemble competition:

  • MariClaire and Marilee Prill, superior rating, 1st place 5th percussion duet division
