HHS One Act Qualifies for State

The Holdrege High School one act play won first place at the B-5 District competition held at The Tassel last Friday. Only the first place play in each district continues on to the state competition in Kearney. Coming in second place was Aurora. Along with winning the state nod, Holdrege received many outstanding acting awards. They went to Jonathan Larson, Amanda Jones, Jared Buskirk, Stephanie Smith, Joseph Burr, Emilee Parr, and Seth Hald.
The State Class B Play Production Competition will be held in Kearney on Thursday, December 10 beginning at 1:00 at the Merryman Performing Arts Center with the HHS actors performing “Wallace’s Will” at 4:45. Only six class B schools get to compete at the state level. Joining Holdrege are Alliance, Pierce, Omaha Mercy, Bennington, and Norris. NSAA will charge an admission fee for the competition: $7.00 for adults; $5.00 for students.
