Holdrege Students Perform In UNK Festival Band

Hailey Adkins, Kendra Ritter, and Adam Zebert auditioned for and were selected to perform in the UNK Festival Band on Monday, January 25 at the UNK Sports Center. The one-hundred piece ensemble was under the direction of retiring UNK band director Dr. Gary Davis. The group was comprised of students from around 45 schools from across Kansas and Nebraska. They spent the day rehearsing for an evening concert which was well received. Selections included "Festivo," "Two Renaissance Sketches," "Adagio Cantabile," and "On the Edge of Tomorrow." Holdrege Junior Hailey Adkins stated about the event, "It was educational and I had a good time."
