Working together to keep athletes safe, medical personnel from the Holdrege area recently met to discuss and practice proper techniques in moving a critically injured athlete.
On Wednesday, August 18th, Family Medical Specialties’ doctors, the Holdrege Volunteer Fireman & EMTs, Phelps Memorial Health Center EMTs, and Phelps Memorial Health Therapy Therapists and Athletic Trainers gathered to review proper methods in transporting severely injured players from the football field. This refresher course was mainly for those who may have to help remove a player with a neck or spine injury.
This teamwork from various medical fields showed the dedication and support of our community. Holdrege High School feels blessed to have such caring professionals assisting our school.
Attending the training were: Lonnie Jauken, Andrew Weides, Kyle and Sam Minnick, Joel Demaris, Dr. Jeff Berney, Dr. Scott Ehresman, Dan Wagner, Jeff Nantkes, Jim Wagner, Mark Abramson, Doug Novak, Dudley Karlson, Jay Beavers, Joel Suggitt, Kayla Farrell and Jason Hale and Scott Schoneman.
