It's Apple Picking Time!

by Betty Amen

October 19, 2009

We had so much fun learning about apples!  We picked apples from the trees of Dan and Cindy Svoboda. The apples were so low that everyone could reach up and pick them without a ladder. Some were sweet and great to eat while others were tart, for making pies.  We made a chart of the apples that the students brought from home. Red was the favorite, followed by green. Yellow came in last!  We used our apples to make apple pie. We even made our own crusts! The students are very good bakers! We ate hot apple pie with ice cream.  We made Mr. Apple Heads with the accessories from Mr. Potato Head. We also used our apples to make apple prints.  We will make a book about all the fun we had with apples.
