February 04, 2010
In January the approximately 90 students at R-7 Elementary had two opportunities to raise money for the earthquake victims of Haiti. On Friday, January 21, the students were able to wear hats to school with a donation of one dollar or more. There were many baseball hats, but some students wore unusual and crazy hats. Hats for Haiti day raised $149.01!
Relax for Relief was the theme for the dress up day on Friday, January 28. Students came to school in their comfortable pajamas. On this day the students donated $139. The money raised during these two special days was donated to the Red Cross to be used in their efforts to assist the people of Haiti.
