The Real Deal

Mr. Atchison came to Mrs. Schneider’s 6th grade reading class to talk about the Vietnam War because the class had read a book called Cracker! The Best Dog in Vietnam. Mr. Atchison served in the Vietnam War and is currently a guidance counselor at Holdrege High. He brought Vietnamese uniforms, American Special Forces uniforms, pictures, his billfold from the war, awards, and shared lots of his memories.

The students enjoyed the exciting visit and learned the inside scoop about the war. Mrs. Schneider and her class want to give Mr. Atchison special thanks for sharing his experience in Vietnam.
