At a ceremony during the annual conference of the Nebraska State Association of Secondary School Principals held in Kearney, Nebraska during December 2011, Todd Hilyard, current Superintendent at Holdrege Public Schools was presented the 2011 Distinguished Service Award.
The purpose of the NSASSP Distinguished Service Award is to honor administrators who have rendered outstanding and unselfish service to the Nebraska State Association of Secondary School Principals and who have contributed significantly to quality education at the state and local level. The selection criteria for the state selection committee requires choosing a person who “has demonstrated outstanding leadership in their school, their region and at the state level… (and how has) demonstrated their enthusiasm for the principalship by support from students, parents, and peers.”
Mr. Hilyard served one year as Assistant Principal at Centennial Jr-Sr High School in Utica, Nebraska, then served for 10 years as Cozad Middle School Principal before becoming superintendent for Holdrege Public Schools.
Congratulations Mr. Hilyard!
